as a paleofiction writer I have done a few storylines w/icthiosaurs but THIS is an EXELLENT illust of a pod of prehistorics!I love this work !!

Interesting how you drew the mouth line further up the snout than in most Ichthyosaur reconstructions. It gives the face a very dolphin-like appearance.

brahaha good catch. heh yeah this painting is probably giving paleontological reconstructionists across the world stomach ulcers right now.

it's a personal thing - (i'm a cetacean nerd) the prehistoric beasties i'm concocting right now are a preliminary leadup to a kids' book, so i wanted to make the ichthyosaurs a bit friendlier looking.
heh, they likely didn't hang out with their babies after they were born, either, but it makes the jurassic seas a little less eat-and-be-eaten for the kiddies.

and ya never know, for a while there ceratopsians didnt have cheeks and all their food fell out the sides of their mouths. :B
