Having a Dimetrodon for a pet is kinda like having a pet dog, but with a giant sail. You know?

Don't try this at home. Of course, if you have a giant prehistoric predator at home that is a problem in itself.

Super-cute! Very well executed, from the anatomy of the Dimetrodon and its colors to the body language of the young boy to the water effects and shading. I don't care if Dimetrodon isn't a dinosaur; I want one!

is this going to be somewhat educational? everyone nowadays thinks every extinct reptile is a dinosaur

ps.
I think it would be cool for you to draw a diictodon, think it would come out looking cute

I wish I had a Dimetrodon for a pet when I was growing; it would be the ultimate man's best friend/guard dog.

Well put, taytonclait! And I also love the notion of this prehistoric companion. Reminds of the feel I get from Carl Buell's sweet picture "Karianne's Pet." Dinosaurs Before Bedtime is going to be the best picture book ever!

who doesn't love dinos? What always got me about this one is, well, I was a blonde skinny kid who could spell "paleontologist" at age 5. Brings back good memories of pure imagination.
